This year we are commemorating the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution—which guaranteed American women citizens the right to vote. These products celebrate the stories of women told and untold throughout history. While Doris Duke was not a political activist, she used her wealth and privilege to shape the world. As a philanthropist, she supported organizations and causes including medical research, environmental advocacy, child well-being, and the celebration of the performing arts. And as a “keeper” she continued a long tradition of women stewarding heritage and shaping our understanding of our past for future generations. At the museums of NRF, you will see fine art and decorative objects she collected, displayed, arranged, and left for public enjoyment.
