Newport Ball-and-Claw Foot Postcard
One of the most recognizable features of 18th-century Newport furniture is the distinctive ball-and-claw foot. You can tell a Newport ball-and-claw foot apart from other examples because of the clearly articulated joints on the talons and the open space between the ball and the talon (known as “undercut.”)
